June Forum: Homelessness - A look at Portland’s progress

In 2015, the city of Portland declared a housing state of emergency, which remains in place today. Since that time, the city and Multnomah County created the Joint Office of Homeless Services to coordinate and streamline their efforts to address this challenging and complex issue. While much is left to do and homelessness has increased overall, Multnomah County is unique among West Coast jurisdictions with a decline in the percentage of unsheltered people according to the most recent counts. Come hear from the leaders spearheading the efforts to address this crisis and learn how our community can continue to make progress.
