Description
The adoption of electric vehicles requires an “ecosystem” of stakeholders to advance this technology. From consumers, government agencies, automakers, charging station firms to nonprofit organizations like Forth. Electric utilities are also key players in the industry and many are working to make public charging more accessible, educate consumers, and demonstrate how EVs support the grid.
We will be joined by three guest speakers representing our regional utilities:
PacifiCorp,
Portland General Electric and
Rocky Mountain Power.
Oregon’s Senate Bill 1547 requires Oregon’s two largest utilities, Portland General Electric and PacifiCorp, which together serve over 70% of the state's electricity needs, to develop programs for accelerating transportation electrification. These plans have been approved by the Public Utility Commission and guest speakers
Aaron Milano (PGE) and
Eli Morris (PacifiCorp) will share their utilities’ respective plans and how they will advance electric mobility in the Portland area. Our third guest speaker, James Campbell of Rocky Mountain Power, will discuss the
WestSmart EV Program, a regional program advancing electric mobility in the western states. James will be highlighting efforts in Utah, focusing on the successes, challenges and lessons learned from Rocky Mountain’s current programs.
