Virtual D.C. Fly-in: Congressman Kurt Schrader

Thursday, April 1, 2021 (10:00 AM - 11:00 AM) (PDT)

Description

For years, the Portland Business Alliance has partnered with Oregon Business and Industry and the Oregon Business Council under the Oregon Business Plan to take our federal agenda to Oregon’s congressional representatives in Washington, D.C. This year, going in person is not an option, so we are taking our D.C. fly in virtual, with a series of webinars featuring Oregon’s delegation members.

We are starting on April 1 with Congressman Kurt Schrader, a Democrat representing Oregon’s 5th District. Rep. Schrader will provide his perspective on the federal response to the COVID-19 pandemic and recession, his thoughts on the American Rescue Plan and other critically important legislation that will impact Oregon businesses.

While Rep. Schrader is a Democrat, he is one of the founding members of the Problem Solvers Caucus, which is the only bipartisan working group in the House of Representatives and has been a key player in many important policy negotiations. He also serves on the House Committee on Energy & Commerce. A former small business owner and veterinarian, he’s represented Oregon’s 5th District – which includes all of Polk, Marion, Lincoln and Tillamook counties, as well as most of Clackamas and small portions of Multnomah and Benton counties, since 2008.
