Join us on March 13th for Lunch with Leaders where attendees have the opportunity to connect with agency leaders in a casual atmosphere. Meet Andrea Durbin, director of the City of Portland’s Bureau of Planning and Sustainability. Andrea joined the City of Portland in 2019 after previously serving as the executive director of Oregon Environmental Council, a statewide nonprofit dedicated to environmental advocacy. Hear from Andrea about her experience in environmental policy management and how she’s bringing this into action at the City of Portland.
About Andrea Durbin:
Andrea Durbin was named to lead the Portland bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) by Mayor Ted Wheeler in April, 2019. Andrea Durbin has over 20 years of effective environmental policy leadership in Portland and beyond. For the past 13 years, Andrea served as the Executive Director of Oregon Environmental Council. She has also worked in consulting, which allowed her to advise clients in the financial sector on the development of their environmental and social standards for international lending practices. Additionally, she has worked as a National Campaign Director for Greenpeace and as International Program Director for Friends of the Earth.
Andrea brings a collaborative and equity-centered approach to BPS, which aligns with the mission and values of the bureau. Her experience in advancing sound and effective environmental policy here in Oregon will be a welcome addition to the City of Portland’s staff as we work collectively to meet the challenges posed by the reality of climate change.
