You will learn about a workplace organization technique called 5S, a proven methodology and approach to reduce storage space, reduce retrieval time, and remove frustration from your work.
The 5 S's represent:
Sort the needed from not needed
Simplify/straighten needed items in a logical order and location for each retrieval
Sweep up the space so it is performing in top condition
Standardize the names, format and location of files
Sustain the improvement over the long term
In this workshop, we will focus on organizing your electronic files such as: computer hard drives, shared drives, servers and email accounts.
The approach was developed in Japan based on Lean methodology, and is based on the organization of physical spaces like desks, offices, garages, storage lockers, and basements. You can learn more about 5S at
